Common questions

Do I need the internet to play?

No. Playing on one phone works anywhere. To play on several phones, they need to be on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot, but that network does not need internet access.

How do friends join on their own phones?

One person opens a room and becomes the host. Everyone else taps Join room, then scans the QR code on the host’s screen or enters the room code. All phones must be on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.

Why does the app ask for the camera or local network?

The camera scans a room’s QR code, and local network access lets phones find and connect to each other on the same Wi-Fi. Both are only used for joining and playing in rooms. You can still play on one phone if you say no.

Can I play in Kiswahili?

Yes. The app is in English and Kiswahili. Switch the language any time in Settings.

Is it family friendly?

Party games have spice levels, from mild enough for grandmothers to cheeky. The adults-only level, Moto, stays off until someone confirms they are 18 or older.

Can I add my own questions?

Yes. Create your own packs in the app, or import a pack file a friend sends you. You can also export your packs to share them.

Removing your data

Chezoo keeps your players, packs, settings and game history on your phone only. We hold no copy, so there is no account to close and nothing to ask us to delete.

Delete some of it

  • Remove a player from the player list.
  • Delete a pack you made or imported from your pack library.
  • Delete a saved game from the saved games list.

Delete all of it

Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from the phone.

  • Android: Settings → Apps → Chezoo → Uninstall. To keep the app but start fresh, choose Storage → Clear storage instead.
  • iPhone and iPad: touch and hold the Chezoo icon, then Remove App → Delete App.

If your phone backs up apps to iCloud or Google, a copy may stay in that backup. Delete it from your phone’s backup settings if you want it gone too.
